Hi, I’m Bethany!

A smiling woman with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a black top, gold hoop earrings, and layered gold necklaces, standing outdoors with green foliage in the background.

I’ve spent more than 20 years inside corporate and private equity-backed companies - leading marketing, driving growth, and navigating the complexity that comes with both.

I’ve worked through the moments that matter: inflection points, shifting strategies, new leadership, investor pressure, and the constant push to deliver results.

I’ve seen what works. I’ve seen what doesn’t. I’ve operated comfortably in the areas that don’t come with a playbook. I’ve had big wins, tough losses. I’ve made big decisions - sometimes with outcomes to celebrate and sometimes with outcomes never planned for. I’ve navigated a lot of personalities and built a lot of amazing relationships along the way. I’m always studying, observing, and learning.

Today, I bring that perspective into my work in two ways:

I partner with companies, founders, and leadership teams to bring clarity, focus, and momentum to their most important priorities.

And I share what I’ve learned in my career more broadly - how decisions actually get made, how careers really progress, and how to navigate both with more clarity and better judgment.

My Background

My background spans startups, nonprofits, and market-leading companies from $25M to $250M+ in ARR.

I’ve led through:

early funding rounds
evolving product-market fit
rebrands and repositioning
acquisitions and investor exits
and the realities of operating inside public and PE-backed companies

I don’t approach growth as a theory. I’ve worked inside it.

How I Think

Most teams don’t struggle because they lack ideas. They struggle because:

priorities aren’t clear
teams aren’t aligned
or execution isn’t grounded in reality

I help cut through the noise, clarify what matters, and translate strategy into work that actually moves.

Who I Work With

I work with mission-driven companies navigating growth, change, or increased complexity-often at moments where expectations are high and clarity is low.

Sometimes that looks like fractional leadership.
Sometimes it’s strategic partnership.
Sometimes it’s advising leaders navigating their

own role within it.

In every case, the goal is the same: clear direction, aligned teams, and meaningful progress.

What Drives Me

I’m driven by curiosity - and a belief that understanding and opportunity spark ideas that drive innovation and unlock progress.

I grew up as the daughter of two public school teachers. The value of learning - and the responsibility that comes with it - has shaped how I think, how I lead, and how I show up in my work.

Strategy, at its best, is applied understanding. It’s how we solve real problems, build strong businesses, and create meaningful change.

Outside of Work

Originally from western Maryland, I spent nearly two decades in Washington, DC before settling in Annapolis with my husband and our two boys.

Most of the time, you’ll find me outside - on the water, on a sports field, or traveling when we can. I value time that’s unstructured, creative, and shared - whether that’s with my family, friends, or a strong iced coffee.

Principal and Founder, One Good Idea

A family of five on a boat near a marina, with water and boats in the background. The woman is smiling, wearing sunglasses, and has blonde hair. The man is sitting next to her, also wearing sunglasses. Two children are in the photo, one with curly hair and the other with straight hair, all smiling and enjoying the moment.
A group of five people smiling at the camera on a beach, with the ocean, rocks, and palm trees in the background. The group includes two adult women, one adult man, and two young boys, one with curly hair.
A woman with blonde hair, glasses on her head, and a black blouse with a star pattern taking a selfie at a voting or election event with several people and a large screen in the background.
A woman speaking into a microphone at a conference, sitting next to a man in a suit who is listening
Woman with blonde hair wearing a multicolored geometric-patterned shirt, gesturing with her arm raised in a conversation or presentation, in an indoor setting.
Group of eight diverse people smiling and posing for a photo in a broadcasting studio, some holding microphones, with a green screen, American flag, and broadcasting equipment visible in the background.
Two women smiling at the Annapolis Book Festival at Key School, wearing matching blue event T-shirts.
A man, a woman, and a young boy sitting together at a table looking at a sheet of paper with handwritten text. The setting appears to be a classroom or library, with bookshelves and windows in the background.

If you’re looking for perfectly polished answers, I’m probably not your person.
If you’re looking for clarity on what’s actually going on - and what to do about it - we’ll get along well.
